AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Its aim is to assist the free movement of labour throughout Northern Ireland and the six border counties of the Republic of Ireland.
The EURES Cross-border Partnership's objectives are:
Jobseekers
To make things easier for those who wish to commute daily or weekly across the border in order to earn a living. The Partnership is attempting to overcome at least some of the obstacles that people face by providing information on how to access cross-border job opportunities. In pamphlets, on its Website and via a team of EURESadvisers, it disseminates information on Qualifications, Taxation, and Social Welfare conditions.
Employers
To assist employers by providing them with access to a larger pool of labour i.e. jobseekers living on the other side of the border. It also offers advice to employers on a range of cross-border recruitment issues through seminars, publications and the team of EURESadvisers.
Generally
To provide a forum for addressing issues affecting cross-border labour mobility. Through its unique partnership arrangement it aids communication between Employers, Trade Unions and Public Employment Services.
