Study into undergraduates crossing the border to study
The EURES Cross Border Partnership in conjunction with IBEC recently commissioned a report to investigate the low numbers of under-gratuate students crossing the border to study. The report was carried out by the Centre for Cross Border studies and gives a thorough insight in to the obstacles to cross border study.
Over the last number of years, the JBC has highlighted its concern at the low numbers of undergraduates crossing the border to undertake study in higher education institutions in the other Irish jurisdiction. This report considers the current level and trends in the number of undergraduates crossing the border to pursue undergraduate education. The report also identifies a number of policy issues which represent obstacles to cross-border mobility. These include entry requirements; different fee structures; attitudinal and perception issues.
